Involuntary Napping

March is in the books. Another big month. I'm wondering what's in store for me as I actually get closer to IMWI. My running is coming along at an amazing rate. It seems that the adage of "run lots" has some truth to it. Here's the tally for March:
  • Bike: 14h 51m - 90 Mi
  • Run: 15h 5m - 98.54 Mi
  • Swim: 8h 39m - 24839.52 M
Not too shabby considering the first week of March I spent skiing in Colorado. I don't count bike trainer mileage, so that's why that looks low. Here's the year to date for me:
  • Bike: 33h 53m - 166.19 Mi
  • Run: 44h 33m - 289.03 Mi
  • Swim: 25h 59m - 73600.84 M
Now it's making sense why my running is going so well. I'm on track to break 1,000 miles of running in 2006 at this rate! Oi!

All that training has had the effect of bringing on involuntary napping. After some really fun training sessions this weekend, I could not bring myself to stay awake. My body just shut down. I barely made it into bed before I was out. A few hours or so later, woke up feeling much better. And I still got to bed on time and hit 8 hours a night.

  • Yees. My training log shows a combined run+bike time of 76:39 and I've gone waaay past the involuntary napping line. Props to you!

  • Saturday afternoon naps are a regular occurance for me. It is the only way I can keep doing this silly stuff. Embrace the nap, it is your friend!
